RETINAL/ RETINALDEHYDE (6 strengths: 0.01%, 0.03%, 0.06%, 0.1%, 0.2% & 0.24%)
This is a next-generation form of vitamin A that has been proven to be 11x faster-acting and 2.8x more biologically active than retinol. RetinAl is the only vitamin A form to have direct antibacterial properties, which helps to target blemish-causing bacteria such as C. acnes.

MULTI-WEIGHT HYALURONIC ACID
One of the major components of our natural extracellular matrix, which is the framework our skin sits on. This is important for maintaining a firm and supple complexion. With a unique ability to attract and retain more than 1,000 times its own weight in water. Multi-weight hyaluronic acid allows 3 different size molecules to work on multi levels of the epidermis; the smallest hyaluronic acid molecules are able to penetrate deep into the skin, drawing moisture up from the lower layers of the dermis. Larger molecules of hyaluronic acid sit on the skin as a moisture reservoir, feeding the upper layers and blocking water loss to the environment. Used together, low and high weights of hyaluronic acid distribute hydration throughout the entirety of the skin for a smooth and supple complexion.

GLYCERIN
An effective humectant, contains many OH groups which draws water from the lower layers of the epidermis to the top layers. It is one of the essential natural moisturising factors of the skin helping to rehydrate for a flexible and supple skin surface.

VITAMIN E
A lipid-soluble antioxidant, has the ability to quench free radicals. It can protect the skin cell’s membranes, which are made up of lipids and are often under attack from free radical oxidation helping to combat the free radicals attack by giving up one of its own electrons.

Ladder Up – Where to start:

Start with Crystal Retinal 1 for extremely sensitive skin, those who experience sensitivities to Vitamin A products or nervous about starting vitamin A.

Crystal Retinal 3 is recommended as the entry point for those who are new to vitamin A and never used vitamin A products before.

Crystal Retinal 6 is perfect for those who are looking to intensify results from Crystal Retinal 3 or have been using vitamin A products before.

Crystal Retinal 10 is perfect for those who are looking to intensify results from Crystal Retinal 6 after at least 1 tube.

Crystal Retinal 20 is perfect for Experienced Crystal Retinal users who have comfortably used at least 1 tube of Crystal Retinal 10.

Crystal Retinal 24 is for Expert Medik8 users. You can progress onto Crystal Retinal 24 after you have comfortably used at least 1 tube of Crystal Retinal 20.

Crystal Retinal Phase In:

Always start with low strengths of vitamin A and slowly work up the ladders. This minimises potential irritation you may experience when first using vitamin A. It helps to train the skin and allows it to build Vitamin A reliance. When introducing Crystal Retinal strengths into a skincare routine, the application should be phased in gradually: Use twice a week for the first 2 weeks. Every other night for the next 2 weeks. Then every night.

Application

PM routine: After cleansing in the evening, massage 2 pumps of Crystal Retinal across the face, neck and and décolletage. Allow to absorb before applying your moisturiser.

Precautions

Do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin. Contains vitamin A that may increase skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen during the day while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use with caution if taking dietary supplements or using other products containing vitamin A/retinoids.
